Glamour and Arts Collide at the 2015-2016 Season L.A. Philharmonic Opening Gala Tonight

Tonight marks the opening night of the 2015-2016 L.A. Philharmonic season at Walt Disney Concert Hall! I cannot tell you how excited I am to be attending this posh black tie opening gala, easily one of the year’s most anticipated and glamorous social events. (I still don’t know what I’m wearing…but the pressure is on!) I have been attending this event for years now, and I can tell you that it is truly an amazing L.A. experience to have the who’s who in music and cultural arts all under one roof for an evening. And what a memorable evening it WILL be!

Gustavo Dudamel is bringing together again his two most beloved orchestras—the L.A. Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. The “Brilliance of Beethoven” festival will include all nine Beethoven symphonies now through October 13. Tonight, they’ll be playing selections from the dramatic works of Egmont and The Creatures of Prometheus and of course, his immortal Symphony No. 9, fourth movement “Ode to Joy.” It will be an absolute thrill to see this performance!

Watching the city’s music aficionados and everyone who represents the vibrant cross-cultural landscape of our city connect in such a meaningful way is something I look forward to each year. The 2015-2016 season opener at Walt Disney Concert Hall is especially significant this year, as it comes on the heels of the nearby Broad Museum’s momentous opening last week. The excitement for L.A.’s explosive arts scene just keeps reverberating on Grand Avenue, and I, for one, love living and working in the center of it all!
